Orange Bag Hefty Recycle – On the first Sunday of every month, we will collect your hefty orange bags and bring them to the recycler for you.

GOD’S WORK, OUR HANDS 2026 – One 10 AM Service – September 13th
Yearly, as Lutherans, we set aside a day of service to others. This God’s Work, Our Hands event is one that Good Shepherd loves to participate in. Our Outreach Committee has lined up a number of ways for us to serve in our community. There are a number of sign-up sheets in the fellowship hall. They include going to Mostly Mutts Market and the Homeless Vets Thrift Store, making treat bags for Trunk or Treat and Child’s Play, creating handmade door hangers for local assisted living homes, and stuffing 60 goodie bags for the 911 operators in Cherokee County.
We are asking people who cannot help that day to make homemade cookies for the 911 operators’ goodie bags.
Beginning Sunday, August 2nd, the Outreach committee will be collecting bags of Halloween candy and small toys in preparation for GWOH Sunday on September 13th. We will be using this to make goodie bags for Trunk or Treat and Child’s Play. We will continue collecting these items through the month of August and the first Sunday in September. The bins will be in the Fellowship Hall along with sign-up sheets for where you would like to serve on September 13th.
MUST MINISTRY FOOD COLLECTION SITE: Available at GSLC Doorway
Good Shepherd has placed a barrel outside the front doors of the church and makes minimal weekly deliveries to MUST in Canton, GA. MUST Ministries is also accepting donations at their facilities seven days a week. Click the tile for more information about their food program directly from MUST.
