Family Devotional

Good Shepherd is following along with other congregations across the country in this time of social distancing. Since we are not able to gather together on a regular basis, To not lose our sense of community that we have at Good Shepherd, our Youth Ministry Coordinator has collaborated with other Lutheran pastors and youth workers to create a weekly devotional that you can do in your home.   Each week we will post daily readings, and activity ideas to process the reading.  We will be using the Faith 5 model of Share, Read, Talk, Pray and Bless. You will need a bible close by.  If you know of anyone that is feeling isolated or alone, please reach out by phone, text or email.  Maybe you can even share or join in this resource together.

For 6th – 8th Grade youth, Confirmation has been around in Lutheran Churches for a long time, but it is important for us to stop and think about what it is before we begin.

The Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA) has said:

“Confirmation ministry is a pastoral and education ministry of the church which helps the baptized person through Word and Sacrament to identify more deeply with the Christian community and participate more fully in its mission.”
