Yarn Angels

Join Yarn Angels any time!

Next Meeting Date: Monday, April 8th, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., at the home of Melinda Mundis

Yarn Angels and Needlework Friends have merged to become simply Yarn Angels, which means we no longer are just making prayer shawls; we are knitting and crocheting many other items as well.

The new Yarn Angels group has been working with a local charity called The Encouragement Project (TEP) since February of this year. To learn more, check out their web site: theencouragementproject.org.  We make and donate to TEP such items as baby blankets, hats, scarves, lap robes, prayer shawls, mittens, wash cloths, wash mitts, basically anything you like to knit or crochet.  We are also quilting baby blankets and lap robes. These new handmade items are donated to low-income children and families, cancer patients, foster care, crisis pregnancy centers, the homeless, the elderly in nursing homes, hospice patients, etc.

Contact Jennifer or the church office, if you are interested in joining in this project or would like to learn how to knit or crochet. We would love to have you attend one of our meetings, but that is not necessary for you to donate what you make. Jennifer will be happy to take your donations at any time. You can either bring your items to church or Jennifer can meet some other place that you would prefer. Thank you.

Monthly Details:  Yarn Angels will meet quarterly at someone’s home.  Join us!  If you are interested, contact the church office and we will put you in contact with the group leader.
