The Reverend Dr. Paul W. Baumgartner
Pastor Paul has served as Senior Pastor of Good Shepherd since January
2004. He was ordained in 1981 after receiving the Master of Divinity Degree
from Lutheran Theological Southern Seminary, Columbia, South Carolina. He
received the Doctor of Ministry Degree from The Lutheran Theological
Seminary at Philadelphia in 2001. As Senior Pastor, Pastor Paul serves as
the chief administrator and staff supervisor of the congregation so that it might
fulfill its mission and purpose as the body of Christ preaching, teaching, and administering the sacraments. Pastor Paul supports and works directly with the Worship and Music, Fellowship, Finance, Personnel, Stewardship, and Facilities and Maintenance Committees of the congregation. He has served the ELCA-Southeastern Synod as Secretary, a Conference Chair and a Dean; and has twice been a voting member of the ELCA Churchwide Assembly. He currently serves on the Synod’s Mutual Ministry Committee and Candidacy Committee.
The Reverend Justin H. Ask
Pastor Justin has served as Associate Pastor of Good Shepherd since September 2009. He attended Augustana College, Sioux Falls, South Dakota and was bestowed degrees in Government and International Affairs as well as Religion in 2004. He received his Master of Divinity Degree from Luther Seminary, Saint Paul, Minnesota and was ordained after accepting the call to serve at Good Shepherd. In addition to preaching, leading worship, teaching, and providing pastoral care for all members of the congregation Pastor Justin oversees the youth ministry program at Good Shepherd and directs the Confirmation Ministry. Pastor Justin works directly with the Community Outreach, Congregational Care, Evangelism and Youth Committees of the congregation.
Associate in Ministry Michelle B. Angalet
Michelle has served as Associate in Ministry at Good Shepherd since August
2006. She was commissioned as an Associate in Ministry in the ELCA in July
2006. Prior to her call as Associate in Ministry Michelle served Good Shepherd
as a part-time Children’s Ministry Coordinator. Michelle is responsible for oversight of Christian Education and Children’s ministries. She is a Bible study leader and occasionally preaches and assists with worship. Currently she serves on the Compensation Guidelines Team and the Synod Council of the ELCA-Southeastern Synod and was a voting member of the 2011 ELCA Churchwide Assembly. Michelle is married and has three children.
She and her family live in Woodstock and have been members of Good Shepherd since 1998.
